After two years of blogging, I am about to share with you the absolute best project I have ever done with my children. It is not a craft, or a recipe, but an initiative. Over the last year my kids and I have gone out into the world and done 30 random acts of kindness together. Our acts of kindness were based on what is important to our family, and the experience was, by far, one of the most life changing projects we ever done together. Not only was it about teaching my kids the importance of being kind to others, but I hope they walked away with a life lesson that they will never forget! I hope this inspires you to do something nice for someone else, and especially to get your kids involved!
A mother is a mother 100% of the time, no matter how many kids they have, no matter how many jobs they work, no matter how many irons they have in the fire. Finding a moment of peace in the chaos is always a challenge, but it is also an important task. Every mom can enjoy some much needed peace of mind on occasion. Want to know how this stay at home mom gets her mini vacation daily without leaving her house? How she keeps her sanity when her days are going full speed with crazy, silly, messy, busy, unrelenting fun with her kids? There are a few things that I keep in my fridge which allow me a moment of peace in each crazy day, without having to leave the house!
Happy Wednesday to you! Today’s What I Wore Wednesday post has a little extra special tutorial! T-shirt transformations are all the rage and I love everything about the idea of re purposing unworn shirts. Here is a great way to turn a plain old t-shirt into one of those amazingly adorable looped around infinity scarves in just minutes. All you need is a t-shirt, a pair of scissors, and about 5 minutes! These scarves look like a million bucks, but can cost you little to nothing to make on your own! I was able to create a cool scarf with a shirt I had in my closet for free, and add it to one of this weeks outfits. Check out how I made this simple jersey infinity scarf, and a few outfit ideas too.
This week’s What I Wore Wednesday post really runs the gamete of this stay at home Mom’s wardrobe. From cocktail attire for a formal dinner to a day at home cleaning and cooking, there is a little bit of everything. A great Pinterest inspired outfit on a budget and even a Formal outfit for less than $75. Get the low down on why I am including What I Wore Wednesday posts here, but the main reason is to motivate myself to put in a little extra effort each and every day. What I wore Wednesday is a way for Mom’s to share outfits and get inspired to get dressed even if they aren’t heading off to work each day. The Pleated Poppy has an amazing series where she shares what she wears each week to keep herself accountable for getting out of her pajamas everyday and I’m joining in the fun!
Here is a super easy no sew project for any of you ladies who love to wearing tall boots as a part of your wardrobe. Pool noodles serve as the perfect little insert to support boots during storage to keep them from folding over, and creasing. With the addition of some pretty fabric and brightly colored ribbon the pool noodles transform from an outdoor water toy to a pretty way to store boots in your closet. This is an inexpensive and attractive way to keep those boots upright and in great shape. This is not only a great project to make and use in your own closet, but would make a great gift idea for any lady that you love who has a pair of boots in her own closet.
As a stay at home Mom I shop for, prepare, serve, and clean up three meals a day. Getting my kids to eat a balanced, healthy meal is important to me. From the very beginning I have done my best to teach my children healthy eating habits that will last a lifetime. Nothing is more frustrating than cooking a meal and then scraping it off of the kid’s plates into the garbage can. We have all done it. Here are some great ways to make meal time fun so your kids get the nutrition that they need. From my experience, the most effective manner of getting the kids to eat is by making mealtime fun! From cutting things into fun shapes to making faces out of packed lunches I am always coming up with new ways to make meal time silly, fun, and playful. Here are some fun ways to make meal time fun!
This time of the year seems dreary and long, especially if you live in a place like Wisconsin. I’m waiting on springtime, sunshine, and birds singing for sure. In the meantime, I figure, I might as well add a little color to our whiteout winter conditions with my wardrobe. To add a little cheer and color to my days, I have been adding some bright colorful pieces of clothing to my outfits in hopes of beating the winter blues. It has been working, so far, and the outfits are much more vibrant and fun to wear. I have been enjoying adding some bright colors to my otherwise dull winter wardrobe. The fact that I went much darker with my hair has, for some reason, made me fell like I can pull it off a little easier. Hot pink tops, bright green skinnies, and a fabulously colored red pea coat have really brightened up my last couple of weeks!

Last week was so exciting for us! Both kids celebrated their birthdays, as well as valentines day! Let’s just say I baked non stop treats last week and was busily running around trying to make lots of special memories with the kids. This was the very first year that my son was at school all day long and I wanted to do a little something special for him as a birthday surprise. I love doing things that don’t cost any money, but make my children feel special and loved. Here is a simple way to make a packed school lunch extra special on their birthday! That way, even though they are not at home, they will know that you are thinking about them as they eat their lunch at school on their birthday!
