Homemade Crayon Valentines For Kids

Valentines Day is closing in and I wanted to share what the kids made for their classmates this year for Valentines.  I am a pretty firm believer in giving non-cany valentines, considering the kiddos get plenty of other sweets between Christmas and this time of the year!  Here is a really fun valentine that my son made from start to finish for his friends that is a colorful way to give a surprise without the added sugar.  Homemade crayon rings with swirly colors and a message for friends to have a colorful Valentines day is the perfect sweet, but not TOO sweet gift!

Elf On The Shelf Goodbye Book For Christmas Day

Well December is here and that means…..our Elf on the shelf is BACK.  Our special  little Elf means exciting, memory filled mornings as the kids wake to see what his daily antics are.   They love him so.   I had to come up with a great way for them to say good bye to him each Christmas until the following year. Last year a special gift appeared all wrapped under the tree on Christmas morning from our friendly little elf.  It was a yearbook of his visits for the year and a goodbye message too including a message about the reason for the season.

Play Like A Girl

Our family was blessed with a little boy and then two years later, a little girl. We really have the best of both worlds under one roof. In or house there are trucks, cars, sports, princesses, tea parties, and ponies. From dresses to cleats, we’ve got it all between both kid’s activities.  Let’s just talk a moment about the power of a little girl.  Because playing like a girl doesn’t always mean princess dresses and hair bows!  Our little girl is, in my opinion, a perfect mix.  She is a princess with the heart of a tom-boy. I will catch her in a princess dress having a tea party, but sitting in the sand pile covered in  mud up to her eyeballs.

Mini Mission – Every Day is a Big Day to Have a Conversation With your Kids

Who doesn’t love scholastic books. I remember sitting at home circleing the books I wanted as a kid, and now my own kids bring their folders home with flyers. I think I enjoy going trough them just as much as they do, and we always find something fun and exciting that we cannot wait to read. Here is a great campaign that gives you the opportunity to compete in monthly mini missions for an opportunity to earn free scholastic books and be entered into a sweepstakes.

T-shirt To Tank Top Transformation – What I Wore Wednesday

Remember last summer when I shared with you a tutorial on how to turn a t-shirt into a cute tank top?  Well, ever since I learned how to make them, I have done a number of projects using the same technique.  Here is this summers version of a sports t-shirt turned tank top that ups the anti a little bit!  Instead of using one t-shirt I used 2 different colored shirts and transformed them into an even cuter version of a sports tank top from last version.  This has been one of my favorite summer outfits and one of the few What I Wore Wednesday outfits I’ve shared with you this summer!  It’s quick easy, and a great way to create a shirt that you  will love and wear over and over again!

Glory Glory Morning Glories

I certainly wouldn’t say that I have a green thumb, but over the last few years I have learned a lot about gardening through trial and error.  Flowers have always been scary to me, so I like to stick with things that I know I can manage.  Good old zinnias and sunflowers, and gladiolas  are fool proof and about the only thing I have had success with until… drum roll please… last summer. I was determined to cover my garden fence in climbing flowers, and glory glory…Morning glories were my answer.  I was able to grow the most beautiful morning glories, and they cover the entire side of my garden in their simple splendor.  Beautiful winding stems, and amazingly vibrant colors all in-twined in my simple garden fence were not so difficult and SO worth the effort!

What I wore Wednesday is a way for Mom’s to share outfits and get inspired to get dressed even if they aren’t heading off to work each day.  A may be a day early this week, but this weeks outfits are simple, fun ans most importantly comfortable.  The star of the show this week is a new leopard print blouse that I scored on clearance at a thrift store for $2.00!  A great way to add some fun to plain old pieces in your wardrobe.
