One of my very favorite summer time dessert is this super simple lemon cake. Topped with a little cool whip it is the perfect light summery dessert to enjoy with my family! A lemon cake mix, a can of 7UP, and a container of cool whip make for a fantastic dessert to make and share. Three ingredients are all you will need to whip up this pretty little dessert that everyone in your family will love, and here’s the best part…it’s a Weight Watchers recipe so it is guilt free treat… unless, of course, you eat the entire cake. I’m also including a fun little trick to help you fancy up any dessert using DIY Sugar sprinkles in case your pantry isn’t stocked with sprinkles! The combination of these two ideas is the prefect pairing – lemon cake and sugar sprinkles!
Alright folks, here is my final post about the birthday treats! This one was my favorite, so I saved it for last! When giving a 4 year old the opportunity to choose her own birthday cake, you had better be ready to get creative! My little lady paged through her favorite Disney Princess cookbook to find the birthday cake of her dreams. This was a really fun cake to make, and required no special tools or ability. Just a few ice cream cones, some canned frosting, a boxed cake mix, and a variety of sprinkles and some assorted candies was all I needed to turn an ordinary cake mix into a castle birthday cake fit for a princess. This castle cake can be customized for any tyoe of princess by changing up the flavors, colors, and candy choices.
Just two more tasty treats to share with you from my list of Birthday goodies. Here is a version of a cupcake that will send kids of any age into a tizzy. If you know anyone that loves Nerds candies you have got to make them a batch of these fun loving little cupcakes. What do you get when you combine a boxed cake mix, some frosting, and an entire box of Nerd candies? Sheer childhood dreams coming true, if you ask me. Who didn’t love dumping those little Nerd candies into their mouth as a kid? Now, infuse some cupcakes with them, frost that, and then dip the entire cupcake into a pile of candy. Add them to your cupcakes and you have a treat for a kid at any age or for an adult who is just a kid at heart!
Birthdays are a big deal, but making a cake doesn’t have to be. Here is a simple way to turn an ordinary boxed cake mix into a very special birthday cake adorned with that special person’s age adorning the top. Choose the birthday boy or girl’s favorite flavor of cake mix, bake and decorate it with just a extra supplies. Prepacked frosting, a number cut from paper, and 2 different kinds of sprinkles is all you will need to make a boxed cake go from ordinary to extra special. This sweet little cake is fit for a princess at any age and is as easy to make and decorate as mixing up a prepacked cake mix, baking it and frosting it with prepackaged frosting. This is such a fun way to totally tailor any cake for any occasion without spending hours making it! Change up the colors, sprinkles, and flavor to suit absolutely any occasion that is worth celebrating!
These simple lemon gumdrop cookies are easy to make and are a staple in our house, especially during the holidays. They are not a particularly festive holiday cookie, but my family loves them so we make them as a special treat throughout the year and during the holidays too. Everyone loves their light lemony flavor and they are perfect to make and share. A boxed lemon cake mix and a few other simple ingredients are all you need to make a batch that the whole family will love. Even though my mouth won’t be meeting any of these cookies in the next few weeks, I hope yours do, because you will love them.
