Last Minute Valentines That You Can Get At The Grocery Store

Valentines Day is right around the corner.  Are you ready?  Why not make someone’s day extra special with a simple treat that you can pick up at the grocery store.  Pick up something that you know they will love and add a tag with a sweet phrase.  You can create an instant valentine for anyone who is special to you.

Here are three ideas for simple and quick valentines that you can pick up from your local grocery store or even a gas station.  These are treats that we will be giving to the special people in our lives this Valentines Day.

I shared with you earlier how I love to make special treats with the kids to hand out to the people that we love on Valentines Day.  This year we will be delivering individually wrapped cupcakes and a homemade cards to our family and friends.  For those in our family that we cannot travel to see on V-day we are sending some sweet treats to show our love.  I stumbled upon these little Lucky Charm treats at the grocery store, and immediately knew that they would be the perfect treat to send to my brother and his family.  I know they all love Lucky Charms, and it was the perfect treat to go with our message.  I printed a little tag on a heart that read “We are so Lucky to have an Aunt and Uncle LIKE YOU!  Happy Valentines Day!  I hope that this will surprise them on Valentines Day and let them know that we are thinking about them!  This would make a great teachers gift, or valentine for your kids of any age too.

The hubby is next to impossible on Valentines Day.  He is definitely the type that doesn’t get it, and thinks there doesn’t need to be one particular day to show our love to one another.  He doesn’t love to get or give gifts for Valentines Day, but I wanted the kids to be able to give him a little something to show him their love.  He is a definite Mountain Dew addict, and no better gift for someone than something that you know that they will like and use!  We grabbed a 6 pack of bottled Mountain Dew from the grocery store and added A little tag to show him that we appreciate him.  The tag reads “Thanks for all that you DEW for us – Happy Valentines Day Daddy!”  No doubt he will appreciate the gesture, and the kids will be really excited to give it to him.

These were valentines that I sent to my son’s preschool last year.  This could be as simple as grabbing a box of Teddy Grahms and adding a tag or as elaborate as these Yogi and Boo Boo “bear hugs”.  Last Valentines Day my son had a bit of a Yogi Bear obsession after a camping trip to Jellystone park.  I had seen “bear hug” valentines but wanted to make them Yogi themed so that me son was super excited to give them out.  I got one box of chocolate (Yogi bear brown) and one box of honey (Boo Boo bear tan) Teddy Grahms.  I mixed the two kinds of Teddy Grahams in clear party bags along with some red sugared heart candies.  I tied them with a little red ribbon and a tag that I created.  The tag had a picture of Yogi and Boo Boo on it with a little phrase:  “Bear Hugs From Yogi And Boo – Kyle And Olivia Too!”  My son was thrilled to give these to his friends and I thought they turned out really unique and cute.

I  believe that sometimes the smallest gestures can make Valentines Day special for someone.  It doesn’t have to cost a lot (or anything at all) or be fancy and elaborate.  A simple phone call, or letter full of thought is one of the simplest ways to say I love you.
