Christmas time is near and things get busy! I always try to make the holidays extra special at our house, and it certainly doesn’t have to cost a lot of money or take a lot of time to do so. I do a lot of little things during the holiday season to try and make everything memorable without going crazy wasting too much time or money. Here is a super fun way to warp a simple gift like a movie or game, that will simply delight your kids. By using plain paper and adding a few little extras with a dab of glue, the Christmas wrap goes from boring…to quirky and cute and super fun.
Every year the kids add things like their favorite new movies, books and board game to their lists. They are getting to the age where they can tell what the gifts are just by looking at the shape of the package they wrapped in, so I try to get creative with wrapping. This is a simple way to distract them, in a fun and festive way. I simply buy a few rolls of plain paper from the dollar store and jazz it up a little. The paper is super thick and strong, but costs so little. I wrap the kids gifts in it and then add 3 simply things to make it a super fun gift for them to open. I add a dab of glue, and a small red pom for a nose, then some googly eyes, and then I add a cute hairdo with a permanent marker.
It makes for fun, silly, and unique gift wrap that will make kids of all ages, and adults too smile. It only takes a few minutes to do, and all you have to do is write the persons name or personalized message to the paper. No bows to buy, gift tags to write out, just wrap, decorate, and give!
I made these last Christmas around the time that I was creating and wrapping teacher’s gifts for the holidays. My reindeer bags were great inspiration!
Simple, quick, and easy is never a bad idea when the holiday craziness begins!
