Fall is by far my favorite time of year. The colors are breathtaking, the air is crisp, and although I hate to see summer go, I welcome the warm and cozy feeling that fall brings. It is a time full of family, food, football, and fun in our house.
I relish this time of the year. Things seem to slow down a little, and there is more time for what our family loves. Time together, enjoying friends, family, and warm comfort food. There is always a football game to watch, and not quite as much work to do. We switch from grilling and cold salads to warm soup, homemade bread and baked treats. It means movie nights and popcorn, anticipating trick or treating, and taking time to snuggle up with a soft blanket and a good book. It is trading swimsuits and flip flops for boots and sweaters.

I love the day we go to pick pumpkins – I look forward to it all year long. It is a quiet day where we go as a family to a farm for a hayride, eat Carmel apples, pick pumpkins, feed goats and drink cider. One of my very favorite family traditions that lingers in my mind all year long.
