Love Bug – Cute Non-Candy Valentine

Earlier in the week I shared a cute kid’s valentine idea, and today I wanted to show you another!  Two kids, two totally different personalities, and two different Valentines to make.  This is a simple print, decorate, and attach a little surprise craft that will be as fun for the kids to put together as it is to give to friends!  With a simple mason jar printable and a happy Valentin’s Day Love Bug message, this is a great little valentine for kids of many ages whether they are boys or girls!

I skimmed through my valentines day Pinterest board and let my kiddos choose which were their favorites.  It was love at first sight when my 4 year old daughter laid her eyes on this cute valentine from dandee using an adorable free printable!  My little girl was head over heels for the idea of giving little bugs to her 4K friends  for Valentines day.  This was a really simple and fun craft project for us to do together, and they turned out really adorable.  My totally cost for the Valentines was about $6.00 only because I had to purchase two little packages of bugs that were $3.oo (I found mine at Wal-Mart in the party section).

As I mentioned when I shared with you the “Have A Colorful Valentines Day” post this was THE PERFECT thing to do on a cold and snowy snow day home from school!

I simply printed the graphics (which appear 4 to a page) on card stock paper and cut them  out for my daughter.  Then she got busy writing her name, and her friends names on all of them…which, is no simple task when you are learning to write, but she did a great job finishing all 23 valentines!  vdaybug

She loved crossing names off of her class list as she finished each name and picking just the right bug for each friend in her class. She did this task very carefully, I might add!

To attach the bugs I punched two holes in each card and used one of those cute little colored rubber bands to attach each bug.  I matched the color of the band the best I could to the bug, and then threaded the band through the hols and wrapping it around each end of the bug.

They turned out delightfully adorable, and my little girl simply cannot wait to take them to school, in fact she asks me daily if it is Valentine’s Day yet.

Isn’t the little handwriting just the most darling thing?

This is definitely a fun and unique little valentine for your kids to give this year!
