Each first day of January we have a little tradition in our house.  I write out a list of questions and interview each member of the family.  It is a great way to see how things change throughout the years, and it is so fun to look back on the past year and see what accomplishments we all have made.

Happy New year to you all!  I hope that your Holidays were simply delightful. Are you are as excited for 2012 as I am?  I can’t believe how quickly the years pass as our children grow older.  I feel like I need to bottle up each and everything that they say and do, because these amazing years with them are rushing past us so quickly.  Since I cannot bottle them up and keep them little I needed a way to create something to look back on year to year.  This is my way of documening who they were at the end of each year.  I came up with questions that I can ask each year to every member of our family.  I love sitting together and talking about the past year and our hopes for the year to come.  My plan is to make a special book that includes pictures from each year and our interviews to look back on.  I can’t imagine in 15 years how much we will enjoy sitting together and reading through that book.

Here is this years interview!  I usually use the same questions, and maybe add in an extra here or there as the years pass by.  The questionnaire is titled so I can fill in the blanks for each of us and the year.

I am so excited to be able to do this with my two year old this year and get her answers for the first time.  Last year I just filled in answers that I thought she would approve of.  I also listed 12 goals for myself to achieve last New Year’s day.  I am so thrilled to look back on my list of things I hoped to do this year that I made and be able to check off 9 of the 12 things that I listed!  That is a pretty good year.  I had completely forgotten that I made that list, and stayed pretty well on track for the year.
