If you have school aged kids in your home, you probably spend a huge amount of time reading with them. Our kids spend countless hours every week reading with us or reading by themselves, and we are now amazed that they are reading to US!  Probably one of the most amazing parenting moments so far has been to have our baby reading US a bedtime story!  Here is a way to re purpose that baby crib mattress, now that your kids don’t use it anymore!  The combination of a simple mattress on the floor covered in a cute fabric, a row of rain gutter bookshelves, and stacks of cozy pillows makes for a kid friendly space that your kids will never want to leave! You can create a book nook for your little ones to enjoy for years to come!

What I Wore Wednesday On Tuesday – Spring Patterns

Get the low down on why I am including What I Wore Wednesday posts here, but the main reason is to motivate myself to put in a little extra effort each and every day. The Pleated Poppy has an amazing series where she shares what she wears each week to keep herself accountable for getting out of her pajamas everyday and I’m joining in the fun! What I wore Wednesday is a way for Mom’s to share outfits and get inspired to get dressed even if they aren’t heading off to work each day.  A may be a day early this week, but this weeks outfits are simple, fun ans most importantly comfortable.  The star of the show this week is a new leopard print blouse that I scored on clearance at a thrift store for $2.00!  A great way to add some fun to plain old pieces in your wardrobe.

30 Random Acts Of Kindness To Do With Your Kids

After two years of blogging, I am about to share with you the absolute best project I have ever done with my children.  It is not a craft, or a recipe, but an initiative.  Over the last year my kids and I have gone out into the world and done 30 random acts of kindness together.  Our acts of kindness were based on what is important to our family, and the experience was, by far, one of the most life changing projects we ever done together.  Not only was it about teaching my kids the importance of being kind to others, but I hope they walked away with a life lesson that they will never forget!  I hope this inspires you to do something nice for someone else, and especially to get your kids involved!

Entertaining The Kids On A Road Trip

Summer is just around the corner and a family road trip is a great way to spend time together and make some memories!  Road trips with small kids can be exciting, stress free, and fun no matter where you are headed if you plan ahead.  Make the car trip part of the fun and adventure!  Last year we took a 16 hour car ride to visit close friends and their new baby and I was seriously nervous about having my 3 and 5 year old kids in the car for two separate 16 hour rides!  This was our first family road trip and first vacation, really, so I wanted to make it extra fun.  Here is a whole slew of ideas on how I turned the car ride itself into a vacation they would remember!

DIY Infinity Scarf From A T-shirt – What I Wore Wednesday

Happy Wednesday to you!  Today’s What I Wore Wednesday post has a little extra special tutorial!  T-shirt transformations are all the rage and I love everything about the idea of  re purposing unworn shirts.  Here is a great way to turn a plain old t-shirt into one of those amazingly adorable  looped around infinity scarves in just minutes.  All you need is a t-shirt, a pair of scissors, and about 5 minutes!  These scarves look like a million bucks, but can cost you little to nothing to make on your own!  I was able to create a cool scarf with a shirt I had in my closet for free, and add it to one of this weeks outfits.  Check out how I made this simple jersey infinity scarf, and a few outfit ideas too.
