After two years of blogging, I am about to share with you the absolute best project I have ever done with my children. It is not a craft, or a recipe, but an initiative. Over the last year my kids and I have gone out into the world and done 30 random acts of kindness together. Our acts of kindness were based on what is important to our family, and the experience was, by far, one of the most life changing projects we ever done together. Not only was it about teaching my kids the importance of being kind to others, but I hope they walked away with a life lesson that they will never forget! I hope this inspires you to do something nice for someone else, and especially to get your kids involved!
A mother is a mother 100% of the time, no matter how many kids they have, no matter how many jobs they work, no matter how many irons they have in the fire. Finding a moment of peace in the chaos is always a challenge, but it is also an important task. Every mom can enjoy some much needed peace of mind on occasion. Want to know how this stay at home mom gets her mini vacation daily without leaving her house? How she keeps her sanity when her days are going full speed with crazy, silly, messy, busy, unrelenting fun with her kids? There are a few things that I keep in my fridge which allow me a moment of peace in each crazy day, without having to leave the house!
Happy New Year to you all! I certainly hope that each and everyone of you had a safe and happy holiday season! I thoroughly enjoyed my break from blogland and dove into my family with every ounce of my being. Our break began with 2 snow days from school before winter break was supposed to start and inches and inches of fluffy white snow! I found myself hunkered in with my kids enjoying nothing more than staying in my jammies, playing games, drinking hot cocoa, and forgetting about everything but them. It was pure magic each and every day as we anticipated and enjoyed one family function after another.
As the Holidays quickly approach I want to wish each and every one of you a very Merry Christmas from our home to yours. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading, following and supporting A Spotted Pony. It is the thought of all of you at home with your families sharing your love and precious time together that keeps me posting and sharing on this blog each week. I hope that 2013 brings to your home love, laughter, and joy in the simple things that life has to offer. From home to home, from heart to heart, from one place to another, may the warmth and joy of Christmas bring us closer together.
My blog is a year old today! To celebrate, I want to share the story of how I named A Spotted Pony. I would like to thank each and every one of you who have stopped by over the last year and for your kind comments, your support and following. Can a single spotted horse change your life? The answer in an unequivocal, absolutely YES in my book!
Just a quick photo to share with you today. A little reminder to slow down and take things slow… to enjoy the things that we enjoyed as children, especially with our own kids. In the age of driving in the fast lane and technology based communication it is nice to think about a different, simpler time .
Happy Mother’s Day to all of you beautiful and loving mothers that are stopping by A Spotted Pony today! I wanted to share a little story with you about the best part of being a mother and how my children have taught me the most important life lessons. I hope you enjoy it!
Just a quick post to share with you one of my very favorite quotes. Although my blog is all about the “things” that I make and the “stuff” that we do, it is certainly not everything that is important to our family! I strongly believe that “The Best Things In Life Aren’t Things”! This picture is one that I love from our family photo shoot last fall, and combined with the quote says IT ALL!
Happy Holidays from A Spotted Pony! I would like to thank each and every one of you for stopping by A Spotted Pony this year, and for joining in the fun! I feel truly blessed to have found a little place to share our families projects with the world. I cannot wait to see where the next year takes this little blog.
Fall is by far my favorite time of year. The colors are breathtaking, the air is crisp, and although I hate to see summer go, I welcome the warm and cozy feeling that fall brings. It is a time full of family, food, football, and fun in our house.
