This time of the year seems dreary and long, especially if you live in a place like Wisconsin. I’m waiting on springtime, sunshine, and birds singing for sure. In the meantime, I figure, I might as well add a little color to our whiteout winter conditions with my wardrobe. To add a little cheer and color to my days, I have been adding some bright colorful pieces of clothing to my outfits in hopes of beating the winter blues. It has been working, so far, and the outfits are much more vibrant and fun to wear. I have been enjoying adding some bright colors to my otherwise dull winter wardrobe. The fact that I went much darker with my hair has, for some reason, made me fell like I can pull it off a little easier. Hot pink tops, bright green skinnies, and a fabulously colored red pea coat have really brightened up my last couple of weeks!
Get the low down on why I am including What I Wore Wednesday posts here, but the main reason is to motivate myself to put in a little extra effort each and every day. What I wore Wednesday is a way for Mom’s to share outfits and get inspired to get dressed even if they aren’t heading off to work each day. The Pleated Poppy has an amazing series where she shares what she wears each week to keep herself accountable for getting out of her pajamas everyday and I’m joining in the fun!
I have never been a huge fan of animal print, but I though these shoes were super cute. In small doses I think leopard print is a great way to make an outfit really fun and interesting. I am learning to like it. I loved this bright pink shirt… and paired with some leopard print heels, it is the perfect date night combination! I often wear this same outfit with black boots, but for a special night out, the heels were cute!Pink blouse: Walmart $13.00
Black stretch skinnies: Walmart: $16.88
Leopard Print Heels: Target Clearance $15.00
Total Outfit Cost:$44.88
My Pinterestinspired outfit ended up being more comfortable than anything! I found some pieces in my closet that matched this image from Blue Hydrangea on Polvore pretty well and definitely had to step out of my comfort zone to try it. Not sure that I really loved it on me, but I was super comfy all day running around with the kiddos.
