Outdoor Kid Pool To Indoor Ball Pit Play Tent

Before you put your kiddie pool away in the garage for the fall consider this!  Why not bring that pool in and make it into an amazingly fun ball pit and tent for your child to play with all winter long.  I am so excited to share this project with you!  My kids absolutely love it! Living in Wisconsin, this is the time of year that we are cleaning up all of our summer outdoor toys and furniture and storing them for the winter months.  With a 2 and a 4 year old in the house winters here get very very long.  We are always looking for ways to stay busy and active during the long winter...

Repurpose Old Shutters – A Charming Kids Height Chart

Height charts for children are not always an easy thing to incorporate into home decor.  I used these old, charming, rustic shutters paired with some canvas baby photos of my little ones to create a perfect area to display how much they have grown. When at my in-laws one day, I noticed a thin piece of Sheetrock laying up against their wall.  As I investigated further my heart fluttered as I realized what it was.  It was a height chart for their three children (one of which I am lucky enough to call my husband).  Their children are all grown up and moved out of the house.  All I could...

Creative Storage In Your Kids Room – Turn Large Rubber Hose Into Cute Stuffed Animal Shelves

It’s no doubt that if you have toddlers in your home, then you have a plethora of cute fuzzy stuffed friends too. Stuffed animals are often some of a child’s  favorite toys, but I feel like they are taking over our house. I raided my husbands shop and found some rubber hose that was the perfect solution.  These  adorable cubbies make a great little display for my son’s favorite stuffed friends and was totally free to create. My husband had been using this 10 and 8 inch rubber hose for work.    When he was done he left a few scrap pieces in the house because the kids...

Oversized Kids Floor Pillows

I spotted some giant floor pillows in the Pottery Barn kids catalog a while back that I thought were so fun. They looked warm and cozy, soft and comfy!  Would you believe they were $119.00.  No way!  So I set out to create my own on a budget.  I like them even better than the original ones I spotted in the catalog and the kids use them daily! I was at JoAnn fabrics and got a great deal on some super soft fabric.  I wanted to make the pillows reversible and super comfy for the kids.  I was checking out the clearance section, and found some minky fabric (used often for baby blankets)...

Functional Chalkboard Wall Art – A Tractor And Airplane Example

My son’s room is decorated in a transportation theme. He loves airplanes, tractors, and anything with wheels.    Adding a chalkboard wall in any kids room is a great way to keep the kids creativity flowing!  The wall adds a great focal point for the room, and is very inexpensive to make.  The best part is it provides hours of creative play for the little ones. He has a little wall in his room that sticks out about 4ft next to his closet.  It is a hard wall because of the closet doors.  There isn’t enough room for any furniture.  It’s a bit of an awkward space, but...
