30 Random Acts Of Kindness To Do With Your Kids

After two years of blogging, I am about to share with you the absolute best project I have ever done with my children.  It is not a craft, or a recipe, but an initiative.  Over the last year my kids and I have gone out into the world and done 30 random acts of kindness together.  Our acts of kindness were based on what is important to our family, and the experience was, by far, one of the most life changing projects we ever done together.  Not only was it about teaching my kids the importance of being kind to others, but I hope they walked away with a life lesson that they will never...

If you are a mom on the go with long hair you HAVE TO try this.  It will  knock your socks off and have you wrapping your hair up in them!  This is all about how to make your hair beautiful with no heat and no time.  Curl your hair in your sleep with a sock. Yup, you heard me right.  Have you heard of this sock bun?  You really can curl your hair in your sleep with a sock.  If you have ever ran out the door in a sweat, with two different earnings in, desperately trying to throw some bobby pins in your hair in hopes that you don’t look like a mess.  You know what I am talking...

I have been using this trick since my kids were...

Repurpose Old Shutters – A Charming Kids Height Chart

Height charts for children are not always an easy thing to incorporate into home decor.  I used these old, charming, rustic shutters paired with some canvas baby photos of my little ones to create a perfect area to display how much they have grown. When at my in-laws one day, I noticed a thin piece of Sheetrock laying up against their wall.  As I investigated further my heart fluttered as I realized what it was.  It was a height chart for their three children (one of which I am lucky enough to call my husband).  Their children are all grown up and moved out of the house.  All I could...

Rustic Farmers Market Sign For Your Garden

I wanted a unique sign to put by our garden this summer.  I searched and searched and didn’t find anything I loved so decided I would create my very own. I wanted something that looked old, and rustic, that had an old world charm to greet us every time we entered the garden. I love the blog Funky Junk Interiors because she is always making things from pallet wood that makes me drool!  Her farmers market sign was my inspiration! The kids and I took an old pallet board and this is what we did: Removed any nails from wood Painted the board with a greyish/blue wall paint that we had...
